Heritage Park in September

Heritage park resides in Calgary's inner city, and offers a respite from the city pace.  The park consists of a number of dated buildings dismantled and reconstructed on this site, creating a small town effect. Supplementing the buildings various "low risk" rides for kids, and actors/actresses dressed in period garb, wandering around chatting with the visitors. A recent new complex was added to house a vehicle museum.  In addition, special performances are provided by various groups - The Strathacona Mounted Troupe being at the facility during my visit.

Here is a random sampling of the  day

The troupe rode the horses through a series of maneuvers to begin

Followed by a challenge of picking up small cards using their swords and spears

And of coarse, what is a spectacle without a charge

Both gasoline and Kerosene were offered for vehicles

Trains
 Cranes

Taxis, etc.

Printing Presses
And dies

Actors in sales, cooking and teaching roles

Functioning smithy

And homes decorated for the period.

A very relaxing afternoon was spent wandering around.
