Spruce Meadows

Spruce Meadows is a horse jumping facility that hosts a number of events through the year.  Last weekend they held an international jumping competition.

For an international sporting event, I was amazed that the grounds are open to the general public at no cost.  Seating in the grand stands was by paid ticket though.

Here are a few photos taken through the afternoon

There was a packed house

The Brits were also impressive.  Prior to seeing these photos, I hod not realized that the hooves had spikes.  They can be seen on the second Brit photo.

And the Dutch

Not everyone fared well.  Here is a sequence that ended the competition for the team.

Kids became bored.  On the grounds, but away from the arena, a dog jumping competition was also underway.
