Gibson and Sergent's Bay

Gibsons
Gibsons is the first community reached from Vancouver.  This community was made famous in the '70's  by a Canadian tv show called the Beachcombers centred about a small community of sailors that retrieved logs lost from logging booms that are used to move logs from west coast forests to market.  The show left the air in '90, and I do not believe it had a following outside of the small group of Canadians that watched CBC.

Molly's reach, a staple on the show, is still in operation.

The Persephone was the boat on the show.  It now adorns a small garden across the street from molly's Reach.  It now appears to me to me much smaller than it did on the show.

Shellfish, seabirds, and fishermen adorn the local beaches.  Low tide always brings surprises.

This nearby freshwater stream was occupied by bathing seagulls and canadian geese.

Moresby III was gorgeous.  I can't imagine a better craft to navigate these waters in.

Seschelt had a market every Thursday night.  It generally consisted of crafts and activities for the local kids. Note the finish line in the middle of the street. Only foot traffic was allowed in this area during the event. The community was very friendly.

Sergent's Beach, located on Halfmoon Bay, was littered with driftwood, a common sight on all of the beaches.

The water was clean and perfect for a swim, human or otherwise.

The water has an amazing impact on wood and the exposed rock, adding to the beauty.

This area brings on a sense of calm, easily leading you into a meditative state.
