Indian Oils (falls) Sheep River

Indian oils falls on the sheep river 13 August 2016.  A hike along the river was a great way to break up the weekend.  Mark and Gail introduced me to this jewel within 1 hour of Calgary.

The waters have the aqua marine blue colour gained as it picks up minerals from the rock.

Debris from the floods that hit this side of the mountains a few years ago remains along the river.

Layers of sedimentary rock laid down in the vast seas that covered this part of Canada have been bent vertically  - a remnant of the tectonic upheaval that occurs along this side of Canada.
