Banff's Johnston Canyon pathway is a combination of well compacted wide gravel walkways, wooden/gravel stairs, and steel grate platforms designed to provide visitors with maximum access while accommodating almost any physical limitations. Spectacular views of the Bow River tributary and surrounding mountains are provided. Here is a collection of photos depicting the various falls and valley vistas that you will encounter. This visit was on the last day in September, fall colours are visible in some of the photos.
The first water fall
Intermediate water falls. The walkway is visible in upper left. The deadfall is not removed from the areas unless it obstructs the walkways or creates a hazard. As evident in the photos, the water is incredibly clean.
The upper falls, lower portion
View from above the falls
